Dorset Birds
Portland
These pictures show some of the birds which have been trapped and ringed, just before they are released.
The first bird trapped was a nightingale.

This was followed a few minutes later by a young greenfinch.

The next morning a Willow Warbler was the first arrival.

This was followed by a moulting Linnet.

Later the same morning a Spotted Flycatcher was caught.

The next morning another Willow Warbler arrived.

Later a Pied Flycatcher was caught.

A distant view of a House Sparrow caught in the net.

This is a Garden Warbler photographed in 2002.

A Whitethroat also in 2002.

Many thanks to Martin Cade for allowing me to take the above pictures.
